Fabrie files support collaboration between multiple people, whether you're working remotely or communicating face-to-face, sharing files with team members helps to quickly align project tasks and make collaboration even more effective! As collaborators often have different roles and levels of involvement, we can customise the permission settings for files, so let's take a closer look at how this works.

Fabrie provides permission management solutions at the team, project and file levels to protect data security and empower team and project management.

Team permission management

Every Fabrie user has at least one team. There are three roles under a team: Super admin, Admin, and Team member. Click on the team name in the left hand column of the dashboard to go to the team settings page to set the roles for each team member.

There is only one super admin for the team, while admin and members are not mandatory for every team.

Project permission management

You can create projects under teams to manage your or your collaborators' files through project management. The left hand column of the dashboard allows you to view and access projects within each team. From the project page, click on the drop down button to the right of the project name and select 'Sharing settings' to view and adjust the permission settings for your current project.

In this version, all team projects are accessible to all team members by default, private projects are not supported at the moment and inviting external team members to join the project is not supported as well.

File permission management

There are three levels of user permissions for a file.

Managing permissions for team members and external collaborators.

You can view or adjust file permissions and the permissions for collaborators already in the file using the 'Share' button in the top right corner of the file page. The 'All team members' and 'Visitors on the internet' permissions options above allow you to determine what permissions new collaborators should be given when entering a file, or to adjust the permissions of collaborators within/outside your team in batches. The list below shows all collaborators who have entered the document and the roles they currently have.

For files in a team project, if the project permission is 'Allow all team members to access', the file will be visible to all team members in the current team. The file owner can set the file to be readable or editable by team members.
